Briggs & Forrester wins City contract

Briggs & Forrester has been awarded a £2.1 million contract for the bespoke 15-storey 70 m-tall new headquarters building for Rothschild Bank at New Court in the City of London. Working in partnership with Bovis Lend Lease and Stanhope, Briggs & Forrester will install mechanical services, including shell-and-core pipework. Work is due to be completed in July 2010.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
