Intake for Diploma in C&BE soars

The number of school pupils wanting to study for the Diploma in Construction & Built Environment is set to nearly treble. For the 2010 academic year, there will be 3291 new entrants for the diploma at Levels 1, 2 and 3. The figure for the 2009 period was about 1700.

Schools Minister Iain Wright says, ‘This significant increase is a powerful testimony to the appeal of this qualification and more evidence that this new and exciting qualification is growing ever-more popular. Young people tell us that the diploma is a qualification that motivates and challenges them, and these figures demonstrate that.’
