Setting the pace of low-carbon performance in buildings
In just three years, the awards presented at CIBSE’s annual dinner have become one of the highlights of the industry calendar — continuing to be a pace-setter in stimulating and recognising the actual reduction of carbon emissions from buildings — both in their design and operation phases.
Not only do the finalists and winners of these CIBSE awards demonstrate innovative thinking and the value of a planned programme of measures to reduce carbon emission, but their entry forms contain much more detail than even the substantial brochure made available by CIBSE can include.
To share rather more of the abundance of ideas and good practice entered for these CIBSE awards, we were given access to the entry forms. Here is a selection from the winners of just a few of the categories. We hope to bring you more information of some of the other winners during the coming months.
CIBSE president Mike Simpson said at the awards, ‘CIBSE believes that changing buildings and cities is the first and fastest step to a less-carbon-intensive world. All the engineers, contractors, facilities and energy managers recognised here tonight are united in their aim to create a sustainable built environment.
