Daikin improves options on large screw chillers

New options for Daikin water- and air-cooled chillers improve heat-recovery capabilities.
Optional extras for Daikin’s large screw chillers now include heat recovery, inverter fans and fans with high external static pressures. Daikin has also fitted standard filters for both water- and air-cooled chillers with plate heat exchangers. Heat recovery for the air-cooled R407C range from 40 to 200 hp optimises cooling and heat-recovery captions. An additional heat-recovery exchanger in series with the air -cooled condenser recovers heat that would otherwise be rejected to atmosphere and uses it for heating water up to 60°C. The use of inverter fans enables stepless condensing-pressure control to ensure stable operation under all conditions. This approach to heat recovery accurately controls the hot-water temperature. Changeover between cooling and heat recovery is automatic. Extending the heat-recovery potential of screw chillers is useful in large hotel projects.
