The Zip HydroTap — an architect’s dream

Zip, hydrotap, hot water, drinks
London architect has joined many of its clients in having Zip HydroTaps to provide boiling and chilled water for drinks.

Having specified the Zip HydroTap on numerous occasions for clients, ttsp Architects has installed two HydroTaps in its London office to give its 60 staff instant filtered boiling and chilled water for drinks. Zip BC100/125 HydroTaps have been installed on both floors of the Clerkenwell office.

Andre Morrall, an associate at ttsp, says, ‘We’ve been a great fan of the HydroTap for many years, having specified it in many commercial designs, mainly because of its unique features. So when the opportunity arose for us to install some of our own, we jumped at the chance. They have fitted into the building very well, due to their ergonomic design and functionality.’

Water is delivered at 98.5°C, and chilled water is also available. The HydroTap filters water using Zip’s sub-micron filtration system.

Energy is saved, too. Independent tests by Aston University showed that it is up to 40% more energy efficient than a kettle in a like-for-like comparison over a 24 h test period.
