WindowMaster, natural ventilation
Springwell Community Schools is one of 53 schools in Derbyshire for which WindowMaster is to supply natural-ventilation and control systems.

WindowMaster is supplying natural-ventilation and control systems to 53 schools in Derbyshire being built in the first phase of a 10-year Building Schools for the Future programme. Derry Building Services selected WindowMaster because it can provide an integrated approach to control of the heating and natural-ventilation systems in the schools. The first three schools in the programme are Springwell Community School, Bolsover School and Heritage School.

Springwell Community School is a specialist arts college on the campus model. It has 69 zones to be controlled, and WindowMaster has supplied 258 actuators to control windows around the building.

Bolsover School will have a natural-ventilation system with 80 zones, requiring 377 actuators.

The third school is Heritage School, whicg has 74 zones to be controlled and will include the installation of 341 actuators.

WindowMaster is supplying and mounting all the actuators and installing a control interface to the heating system. The control system will also control the Windcatchers supplied by sister company Monodraught.

WindowMaster was selected to provide the window automation system for these schools for its ability to provide complete installations — including the central computer control system.

Each installation includes motors, window actuators, various sensors and a weather station.
