Controlling smaller PV installations

Carlo Gavazzi, solar PV

Carlo Gavazzi has added to its modular control and management solution for solar-PV installations with the introduction of Eos-Array Lite. It offers increased modularity for cost-sensitive applications from 10 kW(e) upwards and provides localised diagnostics to support the rapid repair of power faults.

Eos-Array Lite comprises a master unit with focused control capabilities and up to 15 modules providing string control, measurement and I/O function. The string-control module provides a cost-optimised feature set monitoring voltage and current to pinpoint the location of any power faults to help maintenance teams identify the causes of faults quickly.

Complementing these modules is an environmental measuring unit with one temperature input and one irradiation input and a local output with one relay output to enable the master unit to manage a device such as a local alarm.

The system is supported by Eos-ArrayLSoft software to support configuration of modules during plant commissioning and read-back of data in normal operation.
