Push-fit plumbing saves time in Nottingham Trent University regeneration project

Pegler Yorkshire, Tectite, push fit plumbing
Extensive use of Pegler Yorkshire push-fit plumbing systems reduced installation time for pipework up to 108 mm in this regeneration project at Nottingham Trent University.

Pegler Yorkshire’s Tectite push-fit plumbing system has significantly reduced installation time for heating and chilled-water systems in a major regeneration project at Nottingham Trent University. Tectite Advance push-fit in sizes up to 54 mm and XPress Carbon fittings in the larger sizes up to 108 mm were used in the £90 million project.

The project is part of a regeneration programme comprising a striking piece of contemporary architecture joining two Grade 2 listed buildings, Newton and Arkwright. The work has been closely watched by English Heritage and led by Sir Michael Hopkins.

Hilton Building Services was responsible for the pipework installations.

Clinton Thacker, area sales manager with Pegler Yorkshire, says, ‘We have worked closely with the project team to facilitate a seamless supply and installation process. Onsite installation training and certification was provided covering the whole fittings portfolio to enable the installers to fully appreciate the flexibility of our product range and to see how they are compatible in a variety of applications.’
