Durapipe provides welcome alternative to theft-prone copper for college project

Durapipe, pipe, pipework
As an alternative to theft-prone copper, Durapipe pipework systems have been installed throughout this new building of Warwickshire College.

Following past experience of copper pipework being stolen from site, Drayton Beaumont looked for an alternative for a new-build campus for Warwickshire College. The new campus will offer state-of-the-art facilities in all main curriculum areas and provide high-quality vocational training in a contemporary business setting. As a result, a host of pipework from Durapipe UK was specified for this project near Rugby.

Friatherm pipework was specified in sizes from 20 to 200 mm to supply the entire building with hot and cold water. It was used to carry hot water from the boiler house to radiators on every floor. It was also used to supply all domestic hot- and cold-water services.

In addition, Friaphon noise-reducing drainage was chosen for its excellent sound-attenuation properties and cost effectiveness. Specified in sizes up to 110 mm, the Friaphon system does not need to be lagged. Its push-fit assembly makes is quick and easy to install.
