Titon provides continuous ventilation for retirement homes

Energy-efficient continuous ventilation is provided by Titon’s CME1 extract units for a development of retirement homes in Epping.

The first application of Titon’s CME1 continuous mechanical-extract units by McCarthy & Stone in its south-east region is for a development of 26 mixed one- and 2-bedroom retirement homes in Epping High Street, Essex. Marc Primaroh, group research and development manager, said, ‘The units provided a good ventilation solution for our requirements as they are very energy efficient and easy to fit with the unique 2-part installation feature. They are proving very quiet in operation, even at full boost — making them perfect for the Epping development.’

This units have a tilted impeller, single-level ports and a throughput of over 400 m3/h at reasonable static pressure, making them suitable for delivering System 3 of the Approved Document for Part F for dwellings with a floor area of up to about 300 m2 with supply air normally provided by trickle vents.

The duct ports are at one level close to the fixing surface and directly accept 204 or 110 mm rectangular ducting, eliminating the need to use bends, flexible duct or adaptors in most installations.
