Smart heating on a budget for IKEA

IKEA
By recirculating up to 80% of the warm air in IKEA warehouses, Nordair direct gas-fired air-handling units deliver energy-efficient heating.
Energy-efficient heating in winter with 100% fresh-air ventilation in summer for many IKEA stores in the UK is provided by Nordair direct gas-fired air-handling units. One example is the Cardiff store, which has a Nordair DF14 air-handling unit serving an Inviron Dirivent ventilation system. The DF system has an 80/20 air recirculation system and provides up to 80% recirculation of pre-warmed air in winter and 100% fresh air in summer. The 600 kW unit serves the self-serve and full-serve warehouse sections of the store, which have a total floor area of 7000 m2. It operates to pre-set comfort temperatures during opening hours, with set-back temperatures for restocking after closing time.
