OCS Technical expands with acquisition

OCS Technical has acquired Building Environmental Services (BES) in a deal that will strengthen and consolidate OCS Technical’s share of the market in mechanical and electrical engineering. The expertise of OCS Technical includes maintenance, design and installation. BES is an established and respected building-services specialist. The company was founded in 1984 and has a turnover of £8.5 million. Martin Lewis, managing director of BES, said, ‘BES has seen a steady growth of business in the building-services industry. Its core works activities have expanded to encompass a fully comprehensive range of services across a diverse client base. The marriage between BES and OCS is the ideal springboard for the next phase of the company’s development.’ The BES office in Royston provides a base to reinforce OCS’s plans to extend and cement business in the Midlands. Chris Cracknell, chief executive of OCS, said, ‘BES and OCS share the synergy of the mechanical-and-electrical maintenance industry. BES, with its specific knowledge of specialist module equipment for air conditioning, uninterrupted power supplies and heat management for computer rooms, coupled with their successful client base, will enable the technical division of OCS to move forward considerably.’
