Shenton group, standby power generator
A comprehensive range of standby-power services is provided by Shenton Group for independent telecom services provider Magdalene.

Shenton Group has won the contract to provide its Merlin 24 generator service to independent telecom services provider Magdalene, in addition to its Powercall service to provide secondary back-up power to Magdalene’s managed-service business customers throughout the UK.

Following the signing of the latest contract, Shenton Group also provides a fully integrated nationwide service for maintaining, refuelling and load-bank testing on site for Scorpion 106 kVA generators. They were supplied in 2002/3 to support Magdalene’s managed-service business fibre network and ancillary infrastructure.

The Merlin service includes ongoing maintenance of generators at Magdalene’s managed-service business sites throughout the UK and 24/7 cover for all generators — including a 4-hour response for ’red-alert’ calls. The latest programmable load bank will be used to test generators under various simulated load conditions to test their overall performance and reliability to deliver emergency power.
