Solar PV project beats Feed-in Tariff cut-off

Solar PV, Solon

This former military airfield has found a new use with a 1.6 MW solar PV plant connected to the grid at the end of September — in time to qualify for the original rate for the Feed-in Tarriff. Westcott Venture Park in Buckinghamshire now has over 6000 Solon 275 W solar PV modules, which were installed by Solon for Rockspring Property Investment Managers.

In May and June this year, Solon installed 415 kW of solar PV on the site, extending it to 1.6 MW in August.

Richard Johnson, UK country manager for Solon, says, ‘We actually managed to complete the 1.6 MW power plant quicker than planned. As a result, the customer managed to benefit from the record sunshine at the end of September.
