National Skills Academy signs up six more hubs

National Skills Academy

The National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has widened the reach of its training provision with the sign-up of six new hubs. They are approved to deliver the Skills Academy’s accredited renewable and low-carbon courses and comprise Highbury College in Portsmouth, Carshalton College, Oldham College, Carlisle College, Oxford & Cherwell Valley College and Central Sussex College.

There are now 20 such hubs which, alongside supporting training providers or ‘spokes’, means there are now 100 Skills Academy centres throughout the country.

Technologies covered include solar thermal, solar PV, heat pumps and rainwater harvesting and recycling. Courses to be introduced next year include micro-wind, micro-hydro and biomass.
