Solar PV test kit also downloads results

Seaward Solar, Solar PV test kit

The latest test kit from Seaward Solar for solar PV installations enables contractors to meet the requirements of MCS MIS 3002 quickly, thoroughly and effectively. The Solarlink test kit includes all the test equipment and data-logging capabilities needed to perform pre-installation site surveys and measure the electrical safety and performance of PV systems.

The kit combines the comprehensive electrical commissioning test capabilities of the PV150 hand-held tester for solar installations with the Solar Survey 200R multi-function PV survey meter.

Wireless connectivity between the two instruments enables real-time irradiance to be measured and displayed at the same time as electrical testing is carried out. This capability means that irradiance, module and ambient temperature can be recorded in real time within the PV150 as electrical tests are carried out.

Once testing is complete, time- and date-stamped test results of irradiance and temperature measurements can be downloaded to provide full traceability and speed up the completion of system documentation and customer handover packs.

This kit can also be used for site surveys of potential installations to provide information for estimating annual solar irradiation and yields of solar PV and thermal systems, as described in SAP 2009, Appendices H and M.
