North Durham Academy is the largest of a series of educational project wins for SES’s office in the north east of England.

Shepherd Engineering Services has announced a number of new contract wins with a combined value of £50 million for its office in the north east of England. Working with Inspiredspaces and its principal contractor Carillion Building, SES has been appointed to work on three education schemes in the region.

Working under the STaG (South Tyneside and Gateshead) BSF initiative, the first of these three contracts is Keelman’s Way School in Hebburn, a new 3800 m2 2-storey school for children with special educational needs.

A second STaG project is for building services for a new swimming pool next to Jarrow School. This project is due to be completed later this year.

Finally, SES is working on the Durham BSF initiative on the North Durham Academy in Stanley. This is the largest of the recent project wins and involves SES from conception through to construction of this 14 500 m2 4-story secondary school. It is due for completion in the summer of 2013.
