Interserve completes St Helens College project

Interserve has handed over a bespoke new building for St Helens College in Merseyside. The project has a total value of £57 million and was designed by Ellis Williams Architects. It took the form of two phases totalling 17 500 m2. The two buildings consist of three and four floors housing world-class training facilities and resources. The M&E elements of the project were delivered by SPIE Matthew Hall.

The Town Centre Campus buildings were completed nine weeks ahead of schedule and within budget. This ambitious redevelopment was completed in two phases. The first phase opened in September 2009. The second is now complete and provides facilities for teaching sport, health, social care, hairdressing, beauty and spa therapy.

Halesowen College has set a sustainability example for higher education institutions by installing smart lighting as part of its latest environmental initiative, making up to 85% energy savings compared to the previous system.
