In-room spray humidifier uses much less energy

Up to 97% less energy is used by JS Humidifiers’ Draabe NanoFog Evolution in-room spray humidifier than in-room steam humidifiers — that are said to have been the only real alternative before. The new humidifier has a series of wall- or ceiling-mounted spray nozzles that are similar in size and appearance to a small loudspeaker. Each unit can provide up to 3 kg/h of moisture with a noise level of just 40 dB(A). Multiple nozzles can supply up to 200 kg/h from a single system.

Other components of the humidifier include a reverse-osmosis water-treatment system, high-pressure pump, in-room hygrostat and a central control panel. The reverse-osmosis and pump elements of the humidifier are housed in small portable containers that are rented and replaced every six months, with the old units returned for servicing.

A 100 kg/h NanoFog Evolution system requires 2 kW of power compared to around 75 kW for an equivalent steam system.

Zone control enables RH to be set at a local level. Digital hygrostats in rooms display temperature and RH and allow adjustments to be made to RH setpoints. A central control system displays information from all zones and provides overall control; it can be linked to a BMS.
