SDH completes railway-station refurbishment

SDH Building Services has completed a major refurbishment at a training facility at the Grade 1 listed Huddersfield Railway Station. The full M&E refurbishment included installing new lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation systems β€” along with new power and CCTV services. The work was completed on behalf of First Transpennine Express, which manages the station. This project followed a recent contract to refurbish services systems at Hull Paragon Railway Station.

Steven Hunt, managing director of SDH, explained, β€˜The railway station is a Grade 1 listed building, which we meant we had to consider this in the way we designed the relevant services and the materials that we used. The fact that we were working in a busy railway station also posed some challenges in terms of accessing and working in the training facility too.’
