SES wins major contract for police buildings

SES
This firearms training facility being built for three police forces will have MEP services provided by SES.

SES has won the contract to supply MEP services for the £15 million design-and-build contract for a multi-site project for Avon & Somerset Police. It is the largest win to date for the south west regional office of SES, which will work on behalf of Miller Construction, which is delivering the facilities for the Blue Light Partnership.

The project comprises four new buildings in Bridgwater, Patchway, Keynsham and Portishead. The Bridgwater site will create an operational base and house some 550 officers and staff.

One project in a discussed aggregate quarry will house a tri-force indoor firearms training facility. It will contain staff offices, tactical training facilities, class rooms and related facilities.

Work is expected to start on the first building towards the end of January 2013 for completion in early 2014.

Blue Light Partnership is a PFI consortium lead by Bilfinger Berger Project Investments, Miller Construction and Cofely FM.
