Displacement ventilation grilles from Gilberts

Gilberts, displacement ventilation grilles

Gilberts ST Series of diffusers are well suited to providing displacement ventilation in theatres and auditoria by being installed at low level, typically under the seating. By introducing conditioned air unobtrusively from directly behind the occupants, only the space around the audience is conditioned, rather than the whole auditorium. The occupied space is kept at ideal conditions without using energy maintaining the whole space at design conditions.

There are two types of diffuser, STG and STC.

STG is a 2-way-throw design that offers good performance and superb economy. They are mild-steel units with 1.2 mm blades centrally split both left and right handed at an increasing deflection angle to provide a good discharge and spread of air. Optional air-volume is achieved from the diffuser face by sliding an adjustment control.

Type STC has a 2 mm-thick stainless-steel fascia with slotted radial swirl air-distribution patterns punched into a square or circular face plate. Radial impeller vanes concealed behind the fascia generate the swirl effect, enabling the unit to deliver comparatively high air volumes with rapid mixing and entrainment in the conditioned space.

For the STC, a rotating-disc volume-control damper is available to provide simple adjustment of air volume.
