Powrmatic announces ErP-compliant range of air conditioners
Powrmatic is to introduce a range of ErP-compliant split-system heat-pump air conditioners from Midea in the coming months. All models in the range will deliver the seasonal energy efficiencies required by the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP Directive for air conditioners of less than 12 kW.
The ErP-compliant models include an upgraded version of the popular Luna high-wall series with DC inverter and a ‘super’ DC inverter version of the Super Slim round cassette — both with an energy rating of A. There are also A-rated super DC inverter versions of ceiling- and floor-mounted models.
Among measures to minimise energy use is a standby power consumption of 0.5 to 1 W and active power-factor correction to make effective use of over 97% of the input power supply.
Units are also more responsive to changing heating and cooling requirements, so operation more closely matches the requirements of the space.
The Luna range now has 12 indoor fan speeds and five outdoor fan speeds. Inverter control has been increased from 10 to 25 stages.
The result is that the Midea ErP range delivers a seasonal COP for heating from 3.41 to 3.62 and seasonal EER for cooling from 5.38 to 6.21.
