Siemens launches range of variable-speed drives

The G120P range of variable-speed drives from Siemens Building Technologies covers the power range from 37 W to 90 kW. They are designed to suit the needs of pump installations and ventilation systems and offer numerous safety features such as detecting overloaded motors, pumps that are blocked or run dry, blocked fans, cracked belts etc. Responses to problems can include shutting down the pump or fan, triggering an alarm or starting a predefined process.

These VSDs have protection classes of IP54 and IP55, so they can be used in harsh environments. They can also operate in temperatures up to 60°C, an essential feature for controlling the speed of fans and recirculation pumps in heating and cooling systems.

The starter software comes with several applications wizards and facilitates commissioning.
