Legrand powers up First Direct Arena in Leeds

Legrand, electrical services, busbar, Zucchini
Zucchini products form the electrical backbone of the new First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Legrand equipment forms the electrical backbone of the new £80 million First Direct Arena soon to open in Leeds. The operators of the 13 500-capacity venue intend to host over 140 events a year — covering everything from pop and rock through to boxing, wrestling and, even, darts. Legrand equipment included Zucchini EdM cast-resin transformers, SCP busbar and MR rising-mains busbar. The specification was secured because Zucchini busbar and transformers complement the switchboard solutions of specifier GR Electrical Services.

Steve Shepherd, sales director for GR Electrical Services, says, ‘Of particular note is the Zucchini 3D modelling software, which enables us to quickly and easily design and plan the entire power-distribution system.’

Steve Marr, marketing manager for the Zucchini range, says, ‘The use of digital 3D modelling is growing at an astonishing rate, and it’s imperative for those wishing to remain at the forefront of specifiers' minds to support products and services with software that is easy to use and improve the speed and accuracy of the design process.’
