Marshall-Tufflex launches commercial boiler manager

Marshall-Tufflex, boiler, space heating, dry cycling

Marshall-Tufflex claims that its commercial boiler manager can reduce heating and hot-water bills by up 20% and prolong the life of commercial boilers without compromising comfort. The system can be used with single and linked pairs of boilers under a common header where the boilers’ output exceeds 30 kW. Digital micro-processors control boiler firing to reduce unnecessary firing.

These compact units (180 x 180 x 63 mm) can be installed by a qualified electrician. They use a variable thermal-response program to manager combi, condensing and modulating boilers fuelled by gas, oil or LPG. Signals from electronic temperature sensors on flow and return pipes are used to vary temperature/firing to significantly reduce fuel wastage caused by temperature overshoot, heat saturation of the heat exchanger, flue losses and unnecessary cycling.

These devices can be used with boilers managed by a BMS, avoiding unnecessary replication of features such as optimum on/off and weather compensation. They incorporate a 7-day programmer with automatic changeover from GMT to BST.
