Airedale gets smart with water chillers

Airedale, air conditioning, chiller, precision

Airedale’s SmartCool range of water chillers for the precision air-conditioning market is designed to have a small footprint and high EER (energy efficiency ratio). A key feature of these units, which have cooling capacities from 11 to 233 kW, is to maximise the use of the internal heat-exchange area. There are three versions — SD, SN and SR.

SmartCool SD has cooling capacities from 60 to 233 kW and a frame design that facilitates a larger coil area and improved airflow path. The slab coil arrangement has filters on the face of the coil and provides up to 15% more surface area for air flow and low air-side pressure drop. Energy efficiency is further enhanced by locating the fans in the floor void.

The smaller SN/SR models (11 to 60 kW) have V-shaped heat exchangers to improve air flow and reduce pressure.

All units have backward-curved centrifugal EC fans, enabling units to be configured for high airflow and high capacity or low airflow and high efficiency.
