Remeha helps deliver redesigned heating system for Shire Hall

These Remeha sectional boilers provide new standards of heating for Cambridge’s Shire Hall.

When existing gas-fired pressure-jet boilers in Cambridge’s Shire Hall were found to be leaking, the go-ahead was given for a complete redesign of the existing heating system by the county council’s engineering services manager Roy Drayton. The new installation included three Remeha Gas 310 Pro 10-section boilers.

Roy Drayton explains, ‘Reliability was a key factor in the heating replacement project. We also saw this as an opportunity to improve our energy efficiency and reduce both carbon emissions and fuel consumption in line with the council’s environmental commitments. The Remeha boilers met all the criteria.’

The installation was carried out by Cambridgeshire County Council’s principal maintenance contractor Imtech Aqua Maintenance. The basement boiler house was awkward to access and included asbestos that had to be removed. The new boilers are small enough to fit through a standard doorway and can be dissembled if necessary.
