Pre-insulated header pipe for GSHP projects

Rehau, GSHP, ground source heat pump, renewable energy

Rehau has launched a version of its pre-insulated Rauvitherm pipework specifically for use as a header pipe with ground-source heat pumps. Rauvitherm Cool is optimised for lower-temperature applications than the standard pipework and enables designers and contractors to put together schemes that are both energy and cost efficient.

It is important to insulate header pipes for ground-source heat pumps to avoid transmission between flow and return in narrow trenches, particularly between the manifold and the building.

Rauvitherm Cool uses PE 100 carrier pipe with PEX foam insulation to reduce potential heat losses and maximise flexibility so that the pipe is easy to handle and bend on site.

It is available in 40, 50 and 63 mm sizes in 25 and 50 m coils and can be used with SDR 11 electro-fusion couplers.
