Guidance on the cleanliness of ventilation systems

B&ES, ventilation guidance, cleanliness, TR19, TR/19, BS EN15780

B&ES guidance on the internal cleanliness of ventilation systems TR/19 is now available from B&ES Publications. Called ‘Guide to good practice — internal cleanliness of ventilation systems’, it offers guidance on the testing and cleaning of ventilation systems to meet required standards.

This latest edition includes reference to the new British and European Standard BS EN 15780 ‘Ventilation for buildings — ductwork — cleanliness of ventilation systems’, introduced in 2011. For the first time, it highlights the current best practice for ensuring that kitchen extract systems are maintained to minimise the risk of fire associated with grease accumulation — a subject not covered by BS EN 15780.

TR/19 can be used for new builds, upgrades and maintenance of ventilation systems.
