Kershaw goes sporty at High Wycombe

Kershaw Mechanical Services is to design and install full building services for the new £25 million Wycombe Sports & Leisure Centre. The 10 750 m2 sports and leisure complex will have a 50 m swimming pool with eight lanes, a sub-aqua dive pit, four indoor bowls rinks, two squash courts and a multi-station 12-court sports hall. There will also be a dance studio, a 150-station fitness suite, climbing wall, two meeting/party rooms, changing rooms, cafe and vending area, and staff offices.

Plant will include a CHP unit, woodchip boiler and three gas-fired boilers to heat the building and water for the pools.

There will be a natural-ventilation system together with VRF air-conditioning supply to the fitness suite, dance studio, meeting/party rooms and office.

Other M&E elements include fan-coil units, radiant panels, underfloor heating, CCT and security systems, fire alarm, power and lighting.

Main contractor is long-term Kershaw partner Willmott Dixon The centre is due for completion by autumn 2015.
