Salix launches £5 million fund to help colleges

Salix has launched £5 million of funding for energy-efficiency and carbon-reduction projects in further-education colleges in England, Scotland and Wales in partnership with the Environmental Association for Universities & Colleges and the Association of Colleges. The funding is intended to act as a catalyst for investment in energy-efficiency technologies that will reduce carbon emissions and create financial savings for further-education colleges.

Hayley Condie, programme manager for Salix Finance, says, ‘FE colleges are faced with increasing pressure to reduce their energy bills. The new funding will provide the capital finance to help drive down energy bills and carbon consumption and improve the learning environment.’
