Athens building takes LEED gold certificate

Services for the Karela office building in Athens, the first LEED gold-certified building in Greece and which has a roof herb garden, include an internal wastewater treatment plant and a rainwater collection system for irrigation and toilets.

Grundfos Pumps provided expert advice for this development, which can accommodate over a thousand staff. Over 80 pumps support the completed solution — which includes air conditioning, pressure boosting, wastewater requirements and the fire-suppression system.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government
