Air conditioners use R32

Panasonic, air conditioning, R32

R32 is the refrigerant in two new product lines added to Panasonic’s Etherea range of air-conditioning systems. They are the Z and TZ units for wall mounting and have a clean, fresh, white design.

Compared with R410A, R32 has a low GWP (global warming potential) of 675, compared with over 2000). It is a single-component refrigerant, so it is easy to recycle.

Noise levels are very low — 20 dB(A) for the TZ range and 19 dB(A) for the Z range.

The Z range features Panasonic’s EcoNavi sensor and Nanoe G air-purifying system. EcoNavi senses human activity and detects sunlight so that it can adjust its output. When there is little or no sunshine, cooling output is reduced, with energy savings of up to 38% being possible.

The Nanoe air-purifying system uses nanotechnology fine particles to remove and deactivate 99% of airborne and adhesive micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses and mould.

Energy rankings are A++/A+ for the TZ range and A+++/A++ for the Z range.

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
