Single-phase energy meters

Schneider Electric’s Acti 9 iEM2100 range of single-phase energy meters is designed for commercial, industrial and residential applications. They are mounted on a DIN rail and can be used for sub-billing and cost allocation. They are available as MID or non-MID versions.

Poonan Walid, category marketing manager with the company, explains, ‘These meters offer an inexpensive solution for optimising energy consumption and enabling energy-efficient practices. It is the first step towards total energy management.’

Combined with a communication system, such as Smart Link, these meters can integrate electrical-distribution measurements into a customers’ energy-management system. The meters support Modbus and M-bus protocols.

They can be used with a simple kWh meter or a full-feature dual-tariff meter. Measurement of active and reactive energy delivered and received (4-quadrant) provides a full view of energy consumption and on-site generation. Real-time measurements of V, I, P and power factor give more detail on energy usage.
