Imtech Inviron helps keeps trains on track

Imtech Inviron

Imtech Inviron has been awarded a contract with Hitachi Rail Europe to maintain its new purpose-built £80 million depot near Doncaster railway station. The depot is more than a mile long, and Imtech Inviron will provide all HVAC planned and reactive maintenance, electrical and building-fabric maintenance services.

The 3-year technical maintenance contract also covers a 2-storey office, workshop and welfare facility.

The depot will house Hitachi Rail Europe’s new fleet of intercity express long-distance trains operating on the East Coast main line. The depot’s work includes repairing and cleaning trains, with up to ten 5-car trains on site at any given time.

Ian Dawson, head of operations delivery at Hitachi Rail Europe, comments, ‘Imtech Inviron’s specialist industrial-sector experience and attention to detail made them stand out during the tender process.’
