To ensure the totally uninterrupted operation of expensive and sensitive equipment in the Zoology Department of Cambridge University, Chloride has installed a 70-NET uninterruptible power supply.
To protect the power supply for the imaging facility of the Zoology Department of Cambridge University a Chloride 30 kVA 70-NET uninterruptible power supply has been installed. Batteries can supply power for nine minutes to prevent data loss and damage to four computer-controlled confocual microscopes, equipped with light detection and lasers. This Chloride system is smaller and lighter than comparable systems. It employs digital vector control to eliminate power disturbance or backouts in real time and is fully compatible with LIFE.net, Chloride’s real-time remote monitoring and diagnostic systems. The department researches and teaches a exceptionally diverse range of subjects — from molecular and cell biology, through developmental biology, neurobiology, animal physiology, evolutionary biology to behavioural, population and community ecology. Around 90 graduate students are studying for PhDs.
