Scorpion enhances mains changeover panel

Rapid switching between two mains supplies — the Phoenix automatic changeover panel from Scorpion Power Systems.
Scorpion Power Systems has upgraded its popular Phoenix dual mains automatic changeover panel, which can now be incorporated with a building-management system and fire-control panel. It is also offered with a remote annunciator panel, so fire officers can see the status of alarms around a building. Phoenix has enhanced monitoring facilities and can be adapted to meet individual designs. It is said to be a unique method of meeting fire-safety Building Regulations and has been specially designed for buildings with duplicate power supplies. In the event of a fire or mains failure, the changeover panel automatically switches mains electricity from one supply to another. Electrically and mechanically interlocked to ensure the isolation of both supplies, this changeover panel is backed up by both electrical supplies. A 3-phase monitor supervises loss of phase or undervoltage. A lamp indicator shows supply and switching status, and there is a key switch to facilitate testing.
