Manchester city centre development targets BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating

With the help of Buro Happold, this refurbished building in Manchester City Centre will achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’’ rating.

A whole street in the business district of Manchester city centre is being totally refurbished to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, which only a handful of city-centre developments have won A total of 14 000 m2 of office space will be provided on New York Street (previously York Street. Buro Happold is carrying out facade, services, structural and ground engineering, as well as fire and communications, for one of the two office buildings — 1 New York Street, which will provide over 9000 m2 of office space. The street was taken up by one giant building owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland, which sold it as part of its moves to consolidate
