The new head office of the Co-operative Group in Manchester will include about 30 000 m2 of open-plan office space in 16 storeys and represent the first phase in the redevelopment and regeneration of the group’s 20 acre site at the city’s Northern Gateway.

The design is by architects 3DReid, and Buro Happold is multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.

Subject to planning permission, work will start at the beginning of 2010 with occupation scheduled for mid-2012.
