Elta Fans goes karting

Elta Fans
Raceway Bristol is one of two go-karting arenas for which Elta has supplied ventilation fans.

Elta Fans was an important part of the winning team that provided ventilation for two go-karting arenas — The Raceway Bristol and The Raceway Birmingham.

The Bristol circuit is the largest in the area. It has a large flyover and a raised spectator area. The original enquiry involved ventilating the pit lane to remove petrol fumes. Distributor Lindab of Bristol fitted four Elta Fans’ Compact PowerPlus SCPP units. These heavy-duty contra-rotating fans deliver greater performance than single-stage fans. Pressure development is typically three times higher since the second-stage fan is fed by a pro-rotating air supply. which means that the workload for the fan is dramatically cut.

Following the success of this installation, Lindab won two more contracts at the Bristol circuit to ventilate the track and the adjacent Lazer Combat site — a multi-floor laser-tag arena.

Lindab subsequently asked Elta to supply the fans for the new Raceway Birmingham. This project involved eight Skyflow SSF fans, two Compact SCD fans and all necessary controls and ancillary products. Skyflow SSF is a lightweight range of horizontal-discharge roof-extract units. The Compact SCD is a weather-proofed, short-cased axial fan designed for duct mounting.
