Insulated condensate pipes

Pump house

The recent cold spell, one of the coldest since the Building Regulations of 2005, has seen a significant number of calls for frozen condensate pipes from boilers — according to Pump House.

In response to the problem, the company now offers a pre-insulated condensate hose. It comes in a standard length of 5.5 m and is available from some of the major merchants.

The company recommends using this hose in areas that could be exposed to freezing temperatures, such as lofts and basements, pointing out that the standard 9.5 and 10 mm hoses supplied by manufacturers of condensate pumps are not recommended for external use.
