Clyde provides the solution for Agatha Christie

Clyde Energy Solutions
The heating system of this former holiday home of Agatha Christie has been refurbished in traditional style with cast-iron radiators from Clyde Energy Solutions.

Traditional cast-iron radiators and a biofuel boiler from Clyde Energy Solutions have been installed as part of the extensive restoration of the former Devon holiday home of mystery writer Agatha Christie. Greenway near Brixham, is now owned by the National Trust and open to the public. For the project, Clyde supplied 46 traditionally styled Windsor classic cast-iron radiators and a 120 kW biofuel boiler.

Clive Down, project manager in the Plymouth office of contractor Lorne Stewart, explained that the heating system had been upgraded virtually every 10 years but had never been completely overhauled. ‘This time, we have installed an entirely new system — radiators, piping and boiler — which will ensure that the building is heated effectively and with maximum energy efficiency.’

The new installation was specified by Aecom Europe, with equipment supplied through the Plymouth branch of BSS Industrial.

The oil-fired boiler has been converted to burn biofuels, with typically up to 10% rape-seed oil.
