Daikin launches range of efficient air-cooled chillers

Daikin Europe’s EWAD-C series of air-cooled chillers have cooling capacities from 680 to 1800 kW and use R134a. They are fitted with high-efficiency fans and are available with three different sound levels. These compressors have a single screw compressor with an asymmetric loading system to maximise efficiency at part load.

Three efficiency versions are available. The highest-performing versions achieve EERs of up to 3.70 and ESEERs [seasonal] of up to 4.63, claimed to be the highest in the industry.

Their small footprint makes them suitable for retrofit installations. The most commonly serviced components are easily accessible, simplifying maintenance. These chillers can also be integrated with a wide range of control and building-management systems.
