ALC delivers efficient lighting for new offices of Moore Management

The lighting control strategy developed by ALC Lighting Controls for this new office of Moore Management in Jersey is based on PIR sensors and all-off at a preset time.

Energy-efficient lighting for the new offices of Moore Management in St Helier, Jersey, is being achieved with the help of a lighting-management system from ALC Lighting Controls. Specified by consulting engineers Henderson Green, the system comprises presence detection, timed on/off switching and customisable screen setting. It controls a wide range of luminaires from general office lighting to cold-cathode light sources.

The system is divided into PIR-linked zones, so lighting can be controlled in relation to individual desked areas rather than imposing the same control strategy on entire floors. All lights are switched off at a preset time, which is over-ridden by the PIR sensors if the area is still occupied.

Andrew Cleave of Henderson Green, explains, ‘The system has provided reduced energy costs, longer lamp life and extended luminaire maintenance periods — as well as minimising environmental impact by ensuring lighting is switched off at the end of the day.’
