Andrews checks in at Bloomsbury Hotel
The Bloomsbury Hotel in London, part of The Doyle Collection, has installed two more Hi-Flow gas-fired storage water heaters from Andrews Water Heaters, bringing to nine the number installed over the past six years. They supply domestic hot water to 150 luxury bedrooms on eight floors and to the kitchens for the hotel’s restaurant, The Landseer British Kitchen.
This hotel has recently been refurbished to an extremely high standard as part of a multi-million Euro branding and investment programme for The Doyle Collection’s hotels in Ireland, the UK and the USA.
The new water heaters were installed in the basement plant room by Capital Mechanical Services. Managing director Phil Roffey, explains, ‘We used a small crane to lower the new units from the road to the basement. We were very happy with the installation, which went according to plan.
There was absolutely no disruption to the operation of the hotel, as pipework alterations were carried out overnight and no changes were required to the flue, as the existing arrangements were satisfactory.’
These water heaters are the largest in the Hi-Flo range. They have a storage capacity of 245 l and a recovery rate of 1988 l/h through 44 K. They were supplied with unvented systems kits and Correx powered anodes for corrosion projection.
The Hydrojet Total Performance System in the cold inlet dip tube is designed to increase turbulence, reduce sediment build-up, reduce thermal stacking and increase delivery. The tank design precludes legionella colonisation, even with a build-up of debris, as water at the bottom of the tank reaches at least the same temperature as the rest of the heater.
