Transpired collected collectors now included in SBEM

Transpired solar collectors, such as CA Group’s SolarWall, are now recognised as a renewable-energy technology and have been incorporated into SBEM. SolarWall can be installed on southerly elevations of buildings to make use of solar irradiation to reduce heating costs by up to 50%. It has been installed on a number of buildings in the UK (put SolarWall into the search field on the MBS web site).

SolarWall is said to easily exceed the Merton requirement for renewable energy, with paybacks of as little as three years for new build and seven years for refurbishment projects.
