Radiant heating provides ideal conditions for sports centre

MHS Radiators, radiant heating, space heating
Energy-efficient heating for this sporting village in Basildon is provided by MHS Sunline radiant ceiling panels.

Heating for the 8m-high sports hall of the sports hall at Basildon Sporting Village is provided by radiant ceiling panels supplied by MHS Radiators. The 22 Sunline panels were specified for their ability to provide warmth and comfort from height. They can operate at a temperature 3 K lower than convective systems without any loss of comfort. Air movement is also minimised, an important feature in sports halls.

This venue is a joint venture between Basildon District Council and Community Solutions for Leisure. It will be the new home of the South Essex Gymnastics Club.

Facilities include a 50 m swimming pool, fitness centre, multi-purpose studio and an 8-court sports halls.

The panels were specified by the building-services team at the Ipswich branch of MLM Consulting Engineers.
