Andy Green to help develop SFG20

Andy Green, a director of consultant Faithful + Gould, is now vice-chairman of a technical standards committee charged with further development of the HVCA’s ‘Standard maintenance specification for building services’ (SFG20). He will help the committee ensure that SFG20’s existing maintenance schedules continue to conform to industry best practice and current legislation and develop new schedules as required.

Peter Excell, HVCA council member and immediate past chairman of the association’s service’s and facilities group, says, ‘Andy’s considerable expertise will be of enormous benefit to the alignment of SFG20 with CIBSE’s “Guide M to maintenance engineering and management” and with the new “Rules of measurement for maintenance” (NRM part 3) about to be published by RICS.’

‘Of particular value is his experience in developing standards for the maintenance and life-cycle costing of building-services projects, which has specific relevance to building-services-engineering companies involved in large-portfolio asset management and major PFI projects.’
