HID lighting is dimmable

Venture Lighting, HID lighting, dimmable

Venture Lighting’s V5 electronic HID lighting system offers many advantages over older-style HID lighting. Typical efficiencies are around 93%, and lamps can be dimmed to 10% of full lumen output. Designed for high- and low-bay applications, V5 comprises electronic control gear and metal-halide lamps. Unlike T5 fluorescent lighting, the V5 system is not affected by ambient temperatures and can be dimmed within a few minutes of being switched on.

Lamp life is 30 000 hours using standard lamps, with a maintained lumen output of 85% Further efficiencies are achieved from the special reflector design, which is being made available to all manufacturers of high- and low-bay luminaires.

The V5 system is available with five lamp sizes from 200 to 400 W. it is compatible with leading photocells and presence/absence detectors and can be controlled via DALI or 1 to 10 V signals.
